What is nostril reduction?
Nostril reduction — also called alarplasty — is an aesthetic procedure that narrows the width of the wings of the nose (the alae) to harmonise the face. It refines the appearance of the nose while keeping a natural result, without changing the bone structure or the bridge.

How does the procedure work?
Nostril reduction is performed under local or general anaesthesia and lasts on average 30 to 60 minutes. It involves removing a thin strip of skin at the base of the wings of the nose, then closing with discreet sutures. The scar sits in the natural groove between the nose and the cheek: once healed, it becomes extremely discreet, even invisible.
Scars and recovery
The aftermath is usually simple: a few days of recovery are enough, and the result becomes visible as soon as the swelling subsides. In the first weeks the scar may be slightly pink; it gradually fades to blend into the natural fold of the wing of the nose, most often within about a month.
